Founded in 1896 during the Hungarian millennium exhibition, the museum collection has survived both World War II and the 1956 Hungarian Uprising.

Located in City Park and open Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, the museum offers complete wheelchair accessibility throughout its premises.
The Hall of Hunting features hundreds of antlers, taxidermied animals, and hunting artifacts displayed under vaulted ceilings with stained glass windows.
