Zielinski Bridge, Arch bridge in Zugló, Hungary
Zielinski Bridge is an arch bridge that spans Városligeti Lake in Budapest, connecting Kós Károly promenade to Heroes' Square. It features three stone arches and limestone-clad supports, sitting approximately three meters above the water level.
The bridge was designed by engineer Szilárd Zielinski and opened in 1896 as part of Hungary's millennium celebrations. It survived World War II intact, though its original lamp posts were later replaced with ones salvaged from the nearby Chain Bridge.
The bridge features limestone-clad pillars and decorative railings that reflect the architectural preferences of late 19th century Hungarian engineering.
The bridge has a weight limit of 3.5 tons for vehicles and can only support light traffic. Pedestrians can cross comfortably, and it serves as an accessible connection between two main areas of the park.
During World War II, the bridge remained intact while its original lamp posts were replaced with ones from the damaged Chain Bridge.
