Létrás Cave

The Létrás Cave is an underground cave system in Miskolc where natural passages connect to pools of warm thermal water. The water maintains temperatures around 30 degrees Celsius as it moves through the subterranean passages.

The cave began its development in 1959 when work started to make it accessible to visitors. By 2005, major modifications had transformed the natural chambers into spaces designed for therapeutic bathing.

The cave serves as a gathering place where locals and visitors experience the Hungarian tradition of thermal water therapy in a natural setting. People come here not just for healing but also to connect with this long-standing practice rooted in the region's resources.

The entrance is easily reachable and the underground passages are adapted for people with reduced mobility. Facilities include spaces to change, rest areas, and treatment zones throughout the cavern.

The cave contains large dome chambers where sound echoes in distinctive ways as you move through the water. This natural acoustic quality adds an unexpected sensory dimension to the underground bathing experience.
