Semmelweis University 2nd Department of Internal Medicine, Medical education building in Budapest District VIII, Hungary

The Semmelweis University 2nd Department of Internal Medicine occupies the "A" building of the internal medicine clinic complex on Szentkirályi utca in Budapest's District VIII. Antal Weber completed this eclectic building between 1879 and 1883 after the death of designer Ferenc Kolbenheyer. Its neighbour, the "B" building, went up between 1877 and 1880 as the 1st Internal Medicine Clinic.

The building was designed by Franz Kolbenheyer and Antal Weber in the 19th century during a period of major architectural growth in District VIII. This era shaped how medical education facilities developed across Budapest.

The clinic's name honours Ignác Semmelweis, the 19th-century physician who demonstrated handwashing's role in preventing puerperal fever. Its wards and lecture rooms have trained generations of Hungarian internists, and the institution continues to combine patient care with the teaching of medical students and residents.

The site sits near several public transportation stops, making it easy to reach by bus or tram. The medical facilities primarily serve student training and patient care through specialized medical units.

The two wings date from different builds: the "B" building went up 1877–1880 on Kolbenheyer Ferenc's plans, while the neighbouring "A" building was finished 1879–1883 by Weber Antal after Kolbenheyer died. The department took its present name on 15 May 2020, when the 2nd and 3rd Internal Medicine clinics were merged.
