Schöpf-Merei Hospital

The Schöpf-Merei Hospital is a historical medical building in Belső-Ferencváros featuring three wings arranged around a spacious internal courtyard. The structure displays simplified arched windows that resulted from post-war reconstruction work.

The facility was founded in 1884 as the Erzsébet Homeopathic Hospital and expanded in 1906 to serve approximately 150 patients. It later came under Szent István Hospital administration and subsequently transformed into a radiology and X-ray facility.

The building holds official cultural heritage status that recognizes its late 19th-century architectural character. This designation reflects how the structure represents medical practices and design approaches from that era.

The complex sits at Bakáts Square with a clear layout defined by its three wings, making it easy to navigate the site. Visitors should expect that certain areas may not be accessible depending on the building's current operational status.
