Schöpf-Merei Hospital, Historical medical building in Belső-Ferencváros, Hungary
The Schöpf-Merei Hospital stands at Bakáts Square with three wings, featuring a spacious internal garden and simplified arched windows following post-war reconstruction.
Founded in 1884 as Erzsébet Homeopathic Hospital, the facility expanded in 1906 to accommodate 150 patients and later became part of Szent István Hospital in 1917.
The hospital building received official cultural heritage status recognition with identifier 8158, preserving its late 19th-century architectural elements.
The facility transformed into a radiology and X-ray institute in 1935, operating under Szent Rókus Hospital before merging with the National Institute of Oncology.
The complex underwent multiple transformations, from a homeopathic care center to an oncology facility, and will become a pharmaceutical research campus.
