Museum Deli Serdang, Regional museum in Lubuk Pakam, Indonesia
Museum Deli Serdang is a three-story building in Lubuk Pakam with exhibition spaces showing local artifacts, traditional clothing, and historical items from North Sumatra. Each floor displays different aspects of the region's heritage, including dioramas of sultanates.
The museum was founded in August 2003 to preserve and present the heritage of Deli Serdang regency. The regional government funded this effort to support the preservation mission.
The museum displays items that hold meaning for the different peoples of the region, including traditional instruments and textiles from the Karo and Simalungun communities. The displays help visitors understand the daily life and artistic traditions of these groups.
The museum is located near government offices on Jalan Negara and is open Monday through Friday. Plan your visit to fit these operating days during your time in the area.
The building design draws inspiration from 'Itik Pulang Petang', a concept reflecting order and harmony. This architectural approach gives the structure a distinctive visual character.
