Sikulikap park & waterfall, Waterfall in Doulu village, Karo, Indonesia.
Sikulikap Waterfall is a cascade that plunges through dense tropical forest in the Karo region. The water flows over mossy rocks and forms a natural pool surrounded by steep cliff walls.
The site is part of the Lauser Ecosystem, an ancient forest area that has preserved Sumatra's biodiversity over many generations. Local communities have used and maintained this landscape for a long time.
The name comes from the local language and refers to the monkeys that live in the surrounding forests. Visitors often spot these animals in the trees while walking near the water.
The path to the waterfall goes through forest trails and stairs from the main road, taking about 20 to 30 minutes to walk one way. Good shoes and caution on wet rocks are important, as the forest floor becomes slippery after rain.
The location offers natural cliff face routes along the gorge that attract experienced climbers. These climbing routes are situated right beside the pool, providing a different way to experience the area.
