Derryquin Castle, 18th century castle ruins in Parknasilla estate, Sneem, Ireland.
The castle featured a three-storey main block with a four-storey octagonal tower at its center and a two-storey curved wing.
The Bland family, who owned 25,576 acres in County Kerry, constructed Derryquin Castle after moving from Yorkshire to Ireland in 1692.
The castle served as a reference in Sir Francis Christopher Bland's novel 'Ashes in the Wind', connecting literature to local heritage.
Located 40 kilometers southwest of Killarney on the Ring of Kerry route, the castle grounds now form part of the Parknasilla Hotel property.
The Irish Republican Army destroyed the castle in 1922, leading to its complete demolition in 1969 during a period of historic house attacks.
