Irishtown Nature Park, Dublin, Nature park in Poolbeg Peninsula, Dublin, Ireland
Located six kilometers from Dublin city center, Irishtown Nature Park extends across 21.60 acres along the southern edge of Poolbeg Peninsula.
The park emerged in the 1980s from a construction waste site after local residents proposed transforming the accumulated rubble into a green space.
Dublin Corporation and local residents collaborated to establish over 200 plant species, including Lolium perenne, Festuca rubra, and native blackberry plants.
Visitors can access the park through two entrances: one from Beach Road opposite Marine Drive and another from Pigeon House Road near Poolbeg Station.
The park serves as a winter sanctuary for Brent geese and houses rare species such as the Pyramidal orchid and the Oedemera lurida beetle.
