Port of Eilat, Maritime gateway in Eilat, Israel.
The Port of Eilat is a maritime facility at the northern end of the Gulf of Aqaba that handles cargo transfers between vessels for Red Sea access. The facility includes cargo handling areas and specialized wharfs designed for processing goods from different origins.
The harbor facilities were constructed between 1952 and 1956 and officially opened for operations in 1957. It developed into a key distribution point for mineral exports and goods from the surrounding region.
The port area draws visitors with local restaurants and shops where Israeli products and daily life can be experienced firsthand. These spaces reflect the commercial connections and traditions that shape the city's character.
Taxis and shuttle services connect the port to central Eilat for easy access from the city. Keep in mind that this is an active working port, so access to some areas may be restricted or limited.
This is Israel's only port on the Red Sea and serves a specialized purpose for exporting minerals from the Dead Sea region. The dedicated infrastructure here creates a unique link between the country's salt and mineral resources and global trade routes.
