Yeruham

Yeruham extends across 38,584 dunams in the Southern District, positioned at an elevation of 492 meters between natural features including a crater and lake.

The settlement began as Kfar Yeruham in January 1951, established by Romanian immigrants as part of Israel's initiative to populate frontier areas after statehood.

The population includes residents from Morocco, Tunisia, Romania, India, Persia, and the former Soviet Union, each maintaining their traditional celebrations and customs.

The town contains five elementary schools, three Ultra-Orthodox institutions, a high school, and multiple factories providing employment in manufacturing and glass production.

Tel Rahma archaeological site within Yeruham reveals remnants of ancient settlements dating to the 10th century BCE, including a water well called Be'er Rahma.
