Kebara Cave, Archaeological cave in H̱otem HaKarmel, Israel
Kebara Cave features a central chamber measuring 26 meters in length and 20 meters in width, located 60 meters above sea level.
The cave revealed significant Neanderthal remains from 60,000 years ago, including a complete skeleton nicknamed Moses and tools made from flint and bone.
Excavations at Kebara Cave uncovered burial practices of ancient societies, including infant burials and evidence of funeral ceremonies from the Paleolithic period.
Researchers and visitors can access the cave through guided tours, which include detailed explanations of the archaeological findings and their significance.
The cave contained a preserved hyoid bone from a Neanderthal skeleton, providing evidence that these ancient humans possessed speaking capabilities similar to modern humans.
