Gedera Museum

Gedera Museum is housed in a historical stone building called Beit Mintz and holds photographs, documents, and objects from the local settlement period. The collections document the daily life and development of those who first lived in this area.

The museum was founded in 1924 and tells the story of the Bilu pioneers who established a settlement in 1884 during Hanukkah near an Arab village. That founding became part of a wider movement that would shape the region.

The museum shows how early residents lived and worked here, focusing on their agricultural routines and communal activities. The displays give you a sense of how a small community took root and developed in this area.

The museum sits in a central location within the town and is easy to find with basic directions. Tours are offered in Hebrew and English, making it accessible to different visitors.

An outdoor section along Habiluim Street displays original preserved structures including an old barn, the first synagogue, a water well, and the initial schoolhouse. This outdoor exhibition gives an authentic sense of how the first settlers lived here.
