Manot Cave

The cave extends 80 meters in length with varying widths between 10 and 25 meters, featuring two connected lower chambers from north to south.

The site contains a partial human skull dated to 54,700 years ago, representing the earliest evidence of modern humans existing outside of Africa.

Archaeological excavations have uncovered stone tools, including Levallois points, burins, and Aurignacian tools, indicating complex early human manufacturing techniques.

The cave requires coordination with the Israel Antiquities Authority for access, as it contains active archaeological research areas and geological formations.

Natural rock falls and growing stalagmites sealed the cave completely for 15,000 years, preserving its archaeological contents in their original state.
