Liman, Agricultural moshav in Mateh Asher Regional Council, Israel.
Liman is an agricultural moshav in Mateh Asher Regional Council, situated north of Nahariya across about 2400 dunams of farmland. Residents focus on crop farming and chicken raising as their main livelihood activities.
The settlement was founded in 1949 by demobilized soldiers on lands formerly occupied by al-Bassa. It was originally called Tzahal and later renamed after a prominent American political figure.
The moshav maintains farming traditions where families run their own homesteads and share resources together. Residents gather regularly and participate in the daily rhythms of rural community life.
The location sits at a modest elevation and offers convenient access to nearby urban services. Proximity to Nahariya makes it easy to reach shops, healthcare, and other essentials while enjoying rural surroundings.
Archaeology work in 1994 uncovered a third-century Roman tomb with skeletons, glass vessels, coins, and pottery. These discoveries show the area was inhabited long before the modern settlement took shape.
