Vantawng Falls, Vertical waterfall in Serchhip district, India
The Vantawng Falls cascade down rocky cliffs in a single uninterrupted drop of 228.6 meters through dense forest terrain in northeastern India.
The waterfall received its name from Vantawnga, a local swimmer who lost his life when a log struck him during one of his swimming demonstrations.
The waterfall represents a significant natural landmark for the Mizo people, who incorporate its presence into their regional identity and traditions.
Visitors can observe the waterfall from a dedicated viewing tower, as the steep surrounding hillsides make direct access to the base challenging.
The falls maintain continuous water flow throughout the year, creating a white stream visible from 5 kilometers away in the town of Thenzawl.
