Dhemaji district

The district spans over 3,237 square kilometers along the Brahmaputra River, featuring river valleys and diverse geographical landscapes across the region.

The district emerged from the Chutia kingdom's territory, which controlled the area from the 12th to 16th centuries before separating from Lakhimpur district in 1989.
