Mattancherry Palace, Portuguese palace in Mattancherry, India.
The palace features long halls with a central courtyard, incorporating traditional Kerala architecture with European design elements throughout the two-story structure.
Portuguese traders constructed this palace in 1545 as a gift to King Veera Kerala Varma, and the Dutch later performed extensive renovations in 1663.
The walls display murals spanning 300 square meters, depicting scenes from Ramayana, Mahabharata, and the stories of Lord Krishna in traditional Kerala style.
The palace museum opens daily from 10:00 to 17:00 except Fridays, with Ernakulam railway station located 10 kilometers from the site.
The coronation hall exhibits portraits of Cochin kings from 1864, alongside ceremonial weapons, royal attire, ancient coins, and architectural drawings from Dutch period.
