Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Public university in Dwarka, New Delhi, India
Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University is a state institution in Dwarka with over 14 faculties and research centers. The main campus sits on an 80-acre (32 hectare) site with facilities for law, medicine, and business.
The university was founded in 1998 through a special act by the Delhi government. It adopted the name of the tenth Sikh Guru and the ancient city that once stood in this area.
The name links the tenth Sikh Guru with the ancient kingdom that existed here thousands of years ago. The Sanskrit inscription on campus reinforces the idea of replacing darkness with knowledge.
The institution coordinates admissions for more than 120 affiliated colleges across Delhi through a central online platform. Visitors can explore the different faculty buildings after checking with respective administration offices.
An additional research site in eastern Delhi complements the main complex in Dwarka with specialized laboratories. Both campuses work together on projects in technology and applied science.
