Birla Industrial & Technological Museum, Technology museum in Ballygunge, India

The Birla Industrial and Technological Museum contains fifteen educational galleries focused on subjects including electricity, petroleum, nuclear physics, and metallurgy.

Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy initiated the museum project in 1959 after visiting the Deutsches Museum in Munich and receiving support from Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.

The museum operates numerous educational programs through the National Council of Science Museums to promote scientific understanding among Indian students and families.

Located at 19A Gurusaday Road, the museum maintains specialized exhibitions with interactive displays covering fundamental concepts of physics, chemistry, mathematics, and biology.

The museum features a dedicated gallery called 'A World in Darkness' specifically designed for visitors with visual impairments to experience scientific concepts.
