Experimenter Gallery

Experimenter Gallery is a contemporary art space in Kolkata with two exhibition locations, presenting paintings, photographs, sculptures, and installations. The venue displays works by emerging and established artists from different countries and backgrounds.

The gallery was founded in 2009 on Hindustan Road and opened a second location in Ballygunge in 2018 to expand its exhibition space. This growth reflects the city's increasing engagement with contemporary art.

The gallery presents contemporary art from artists around the world, allowing visitors to experience current artistic directions firsthand. The space functions as a meeting point where people can encounter diverse creative voices and forms of expression.

Plan to spend one to two hours exploring both locations and engaging with the displayed works. Staff members offer regular conversations and tours on-site where you can learn more about the artworks and the artists behind them.

During the pandemic, the gallery launched the Generator Co-operative, a fund that provides financial support to artists working outside its regular representation. This initiative shows how the space actively supports the broader artistic community beyond its exhibitions.
