Ajmer Jain Temple

This Jain temple in Ajmer features white marble walls decorated with intricate wooden carvings covered in gold leaf. The decorative work displays religious narratives and teachings throughout its spaces.

Construction took place during the latter 1800s, creating a main chamber called the Golden City. This room holds detailed depictions of the ancient city of Ayodhya.

The artwork here reflects Jain beliefs through depictions of celestial vehicles and sacred symbols placed throughout the halls. These pieces show how the faith expresses its teachings through visual storytelling.

You can enter between sunrise and sunset, and you'll need to remove your shoes at the entrance. Keep quiet in the prayer areas to respect those who are worshiping.

Inside there is a representation of Mount Kailash made from approximately one thousand kilograms of gold. This extraordinary work demonstrates the skill and attention to detail of the craftspeople who created it.
