Parliament Library Building, Government library building in New Delhi, India
The Parliament Library Building features geometrical patterns, red sandstone facades, and multiple domes that allow natural light into the interior spaces.
The building, designed by architect Raj Rewal, opened in 2006 after a construction period that began in 1989 near the Parliament House.
The structure reflects Indian architectural principles through its circular plan, central dome design, and traditional mandala-inspired spatial arrangements.
Two underground levels accommodate three million volumes, while advanced multimedia facilities and satellite connections support modern research requirements.
The building incorporates passive energy systems and contains rooftop gardens that regulate temperature while providing spaces for intellectual discussions.
