Qutb Shahi tombs, Royal mausoleums in Hyderabad, India
The tomb complex features seven main structures with intricate stone carvings, ornate domes, and geometric patterns spread across meticulously maintained gardens.
Built between 1543 and 1672, these mausoleums house the remains of seven rulers from the Qutb Shahi dynasty who governed the Golconda sultanate.
The architectural design combines Persian, Pathan, and Hindu elements, incorporating detailed Islamic calligraphy and decorative patterns on the walls and arches.
The tomb complex opens daily from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with guided tours available in multiple languages through the Archaeological Survey of India.
Each royal tomb contains multiple graves on different levels, with the actual burial chamber located in an underground vault beneath the main structure.
