Kasu Brahmananda Reddy National Park, National park in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad, India.
Kasu Brahmananda Reddy National Park is a protected area covering 158 hectares (390 acres) in the Jubilee Hills neighborhood of Hyderabad, India. The grounds consist of forested zones, open clearings, and paved paths that wind through hilly terrain.
The grounds served as a royal estate starting in 1940 and received official national park status in 1998. This transformation occurred to protect the remaining forest cover from urban development.
The park carries the name of a regional political figure, and its pathways now wind through woodland that once formed royal gardens. Visitors often see school groups conducting botanical exercises or families using the shaded spots for weekend picnics.
The grounds open in the morning from 5:30 to 10:00 and in the evening from 4:30 to 6:30, with separate entrances for the park and the palace grounds. The paths are mostly paved, but some steep sections require sturdy footwear.
More than 350 peacocks live permanently in the park and move freely between the trees and meadows. On some mornings, several dozen gather at once on the clearings.
