Peddamma temple

Peddamma temple is a Hindu temple in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad, Telangana. The complex includes a main shrine for goddess Peddamma along with smaller shrines for Lakshmi, Ganapati, Saraswathi, and Naga Devatha.

The shrine stands in the tradition of village deities that have been worshipped in the Telangana region for centuries. Its construction follows the South Indian temple forms that have been passed down here through generations.

The name Peddamma means Mother of Mothers and reflects the special reverence for this village deity in the region. During the Bonalu festival, devotees from across the city gather here and carry their offerings in traditional processions.

The temple opens on weekdays from 6 AM to 1 PM and from 3 PM to 8 PM, on Sundays it stays open until 8:30 PM. Visitors should account for the midday break and bring appropriate clothing for a temple visit.

Peddamma is considered one of eleven village deities that are regarded in local tradition as the highest form of protective gods. This notion connects ancient village cults with the worship of the divine mother in her all-embracing form.
