Telangana State Archaeology Museum, National museum in Nampally mandal, Hyderabad, India
The Telangana State Archaeology Museum exhibits thousands of artifacts across multiple galleries, including sculptures, bronzes, manuscripts, textiles, and paintings from different periods.
Established in 1930 by the last Nizam of Hyderabad, the museum initially housed archaeological findings from excavations conducted throughout the region during the 1940s.
The museum showcases extensive collections of Hindu sculptures from Chalukyan and Vijayanagara periods, along with Buddhist relics and reproductions of Ajanta cave paintings.
Located in Public Gardens, the museum remains open from Tuesday to Sunday, with guided tours available for visitors interested in learning about the archaeological heritage.
The museum houses a 2,353-year-old Egyptian mummy of Princess Naishu, purchased for £1000 by Nazir Nawaz Jung and presented to the last Nizam.
