Sambalpur University is a higher education institution in Burla, a suburb of Sambalpur in India. The campus contains teaching buildings, libraries, laboratories, and facilities for student activities set among green spaces and pathways.
The university was established in 1966 and began operations in 1967 under its first vice-chancellor, Professor Parasuram Mishra. It relocated from rented premises in Sambalpur city to its current expansive campus at Jyoti Vihar in Burla in 1973.
