Vayalur Murugan Temple, Hindu temple at Kumaravayalur village in Tiruchirapalli district, Tamil Nadu, India.

Vayalur Murugan Temple is a Hindu sanctuary in Kumaravayalur village dedicated to Lord Murugan, positioned behind the primary Shiva shrine within the complex. A five-tiered entrance tower rises above the entire grounds and serves as the distinctive gateway to the site.

This sanctuary was founded roughly 1200 years ago during the medieval Chola period and reflects the religious architecture of that era. The ancient establishment connects the site to one of South India's most powerful dynasties.

The temple holds regular ceremonies throughout each day and hosts major celebrations like Vaikasi Visakam and Thai Poosam that draw many worshippers. These festivals shape the rhythm of religious life in the surrounding village.

The site can be reached by public transportation, with a bus stop at a reasonable distance and an airport further away for those traveling from afar. Visitors should be prepared for walking between the different shrines and wear comfortable shoes.

The sanctuary contains Agni Theertham, a sacred water tank that local tradition attributes to the creation of Lord Murugan himself. This water feature holds spiritual significance for many pilgrims visiting the grounds.
