Eshaqvand Tombs

Eshaqvand Tombs is a rock-cut complex with three chambers carved directly into stone, each having decorated entrances and carefully worked interior spaces. The chambers display varying architectural details that show different construction approaches.

These tombs were built between the 4th and 3rd centuries BCE, blending design elements from both Achaemenid and Seleucid architectural traditions. This mixture reflects the cultural shifts that occurred during that transitional era.

The central tomb displays a stone relief showing a figure in prayer beside a fire altar, revealing the spiritual beliefs of ancient Persia. This carved image captures how people of that era honored their sacred practices.
