The Basilica of Saint Lawrence outside the Walls is one of the Seven Pilgrim Churches of Rome.
Founded by Emperor Constantine I in the 4th century, it was significantly restored after World War II damage.
It houses the tombs of Saint Lawrence and Saint Stephen, making it a significant site for Christian pilgrimage.
The basilica is open to visitors daily from 7:30 am to 12:30 pm and from 3:30 pm to 6:00 pm.
It is one of the few churches that retain the old basilica form with a nave and two aisles.
