Sant'Apollonia, Art museum in borough 1, Florence, Italy.

The Cenacolo di Sant'Apollonia exhibits frescoes and sinopie created by Andrea del Castagno within a former Benedictine monastery refectory in Florence.

The monastery, established in 1339, evolved into the largest women's religious complex in Florence before transforming into a museum following the suppression of monasteries.

The Last Supper fresco, painted in 1447, demonstrates early Renaissance techniques through geometric patterns and precise perspective lines in the architectural details.

Located at Via Ventisette Aprile 1, the museum opens Monday through Friday and select Saturdays from 8:15 to 13:50, offering free admission to all visitors.

The detachment of upper frescoes in 1953 revealed preparatory drawings known as sinopias, now displayed opposite their finished counterparts in the refectory hall.
