Teatro Comunale dei Rinnovati

The Teatro dei Rinnovati sits within the Palazzo Pubblico and displays a classical stage layout with four tiers of boxes arranged in a U-shape around the main stage. The auditorium holds about 549 seats, allowing good sightlines from all positions to the performance space.

The space began as a council chamber in the 14th century and was converted to a performance venue in 1560 under Cosimo I de Medici's influence. Major fires throughout the 1700s prompted redesigns by prominent architects.
