Baia del Rogiolo, Natural beach cove in Quercianella, Italy

Baia del Rogiolo is a natural beach cove in Quercianella with pebbles and sand at the base of the Castel Sonnino promontory. The setting includes Mediterranean plants around the shore, a small restaurant with water views, sun loungers and umbrellas available for rent, along with showers, lockers, and wireless internet on site.

The facility began in 1961 when Ivo Mazzoni established the beach operations, later expanding with wider sun terraces and a raised restaurant overlooking the water. These additions transformed the cove into a developed seaside destination while maintaining its natural character.

The name derives from the small inlet shaped by the Castel Sonnino promontory, a gathering place for locals across generations. The Mediterranean plants surrounding the shore create a sheltered setting that defines how visitors experience this coastal spot.

The cove is most easily reached via the beachfront path from Quercianella, with a gentle slope down to the water and shaded areas available for rest. Arriving early is wise on sunny weekends, as the small space fills up quickly during peak hours.

A submerged statue called Cristo degli Abissi rests about 12 meters down, a memorial to those devoted to the sea. The rocky seabed around the cove is home to moray eels, octopuses, and uncommon shells visible to snorkelers and divers.
