Pellegrini chapel, Renaissance chapel in San Bernardino complex, Verona, Italy
The Pellegrini Chapel features a circular design with a diameter of 12 meters, crowned by a coffered dome and decorated with gilded details.
Countess Margherita Pellegrini commissioned architect Michele Sanmicheli to build this chapel between 1528 and 1559 as a memorial for her deceased son Niccolò.
The interior architectural elements reflect direct influences from ancient Roman structures, particularly the design principles found in the Pantheon of Rome.
The chapel stands within the Franciscan complex of San Bernardino, requiring visitors to enter through the main church building to access the monument.
Despite its intended purpose as a family mausoleum, the chapel never contained the remains of the Pellegrini family members as originally planned.
