Fountain, Baroque fountain in Trevi district, Rome, Italy
The Fontana dell'Acqua Acetosa stands 26.3 meters high and spans 49.15 meters wide, featuring intricate stone carvings and water elements.
The fountain marks the endpoint of the Acqua Vergine aqueduct, discovered in 19 BC and underwent multiple restorations through different periods of Roman history.
The central niche displays Oceanus, the god of the sea, accompanied by statues that represent Abundance and Salubrity in classical Roman mythology.
Visitors can reach the fountain through nearby public transportation, with multiple cafes and shops located within walking distance.
Each day, approximately €3,000 in coins are tossed into the fountain's waters, which are collected and donated to local charitable organizations.
