Mediateca del Mediterraneo

The Mediateca del Mediterraneo is a public library and museum organized across three floors arranged around a central courtyard. The building features extensive windows and study areas alongside a geometric garden with earth-toned planters.

The building served as the home stadium for Cagliari Calcio football club from 1923 to 1951 before being converted into a public market. It later underwent renovation to become the cultural and research center it is today.

The facility hosts collections focused on Sardinian culture and history, giving visitors direct access to materials about local traditions and artistic practices. Exhibitions and events held throughout the year highlight regional heritage and contemporary creative work.

The space is easy to navigate and well organized for visitors, with ample study and research areas throughout the building. Dedicated zones for families with young children include changing facilities and nursing areas, making visits with children straightforward.

The building once hosted the city's most passionate football moments and now serves as a hub for cultural learning and research. This transformation from sports venue to knowledge center reflects how the city itself has evolved and changed priorities.
