Chiesa di San Pietro dei Pescatori

The San Pietro dei Pescatori church features a Latin cross plan with a main nave, side chapels, and a limestone facade with Gothic elements.

Built between the 11th and 13th centuries, the church belonged to Benedictine monks from the Abbey of Saint Victor in Marseille from 1089.

The church maintains strong connections with the Fishermen's Guild, which manages the building near the Santa Gilla lagoon in Cagliari.

Visitors can access the church through a small courtyard from Viale Trieste 100, near the railway line in the Stampace neighborhood.

Archaeological excavations revealed that the church area served as a necropolis during the Paleochristian age between the 5th and 6th centuries.
