Monte San Nicola

Monte San Nicola rises 295 meters above sea level, featuring steep northeastern slopes that descend toward the coastal plain with a 200-meter elevation change.

The mountain contains remnants of the ancient San Nicola church at its base, marking centuries of religious presence in this Apulian territory.

Local shepherds maintained traditional grazing practices on the mountain slopes until 1965, contributing to the landscape management of this Murgia territory.

The mountain features a 3-kilometer loop trail with 50-meter elevation gain, requiring sturdy shoes and minimum 1 liter of water per person.

The summit houses a RAI broadcasting tower and offers views extending to multiple cities including Polignano a Mare, Conversano, Fasano, and Ostuni.
