Eurofighter, Steel roller coaster at Zoosafari Fasanolandia in Fasano, Italy
The Eurofighter is a steel roller coaster at Zoosafari Fasanolandia that launches riders up a 25-meter vertical chain lift and features two inversions along its route. The 400-meter track accommodates eight riders per car in a two-by-four seating arrangement.
Planning for this roller coaster began in 2006, but construction delays and permitting issues pushed the opening back several years until August 2011. It marked the arrival of the first Gerstlauer coaster model to open in Italy.
This installation marked a significant development in Italian amusement parks as the first Gerstlauer-manufactured roller coaster in the country.
The ride operates quickly with many visitors able to complete the experience within each hour, which can mean long waits during busy periods. It is better to try the coaster early in the morning or later in the evening when the park is less crowded.
With a descent angle of 97 degrees, this coaster offers one of the steepest drops in the entire region. This extreme angle creates a powerful sensation of speed and weightlessness that catches many riders off guard.
