San Domenico Golf, Golf course in Fasano, Italy.

San Domenico Golf is an 18-hole course on Puglia's Adriatic coast that flows across Mediterranean terrain with olive groves and natural meadows. The layout incorporates archaeological remains from ancient Egnathia while preserving the existing landscape and vegetation.

The course was designed by European Golf Design studio from London in the early 1990s as a modern coastal golf facility. Its development was closely tied to working around and protecting the archaeological site of ancient Egnathia, a significant Roman-era settlement.

The course blends golf with Puglia's rural past by keeping century-old olive trees within the layout, honoring the region's farming traditions.

The facility operates daily and offers equipment rental, professional instruction, and practice areas for golfers of all levels. It helps to arrive early in the day when the course is less crowded and temperatures are cooler.

While playing, visitors can see ruins from the ancient Roman site and occasionally spot pottery shards or stone remnants from that era. This blend of modern sport with archaeological heritage creates something uncommon.
