Villa Luxoro

Villa Luxoro is an art museum in the Nervi district that functions as both a historic residence and exhibition space. The building combines Renaissance-style elements with eighteenth-century decoration, including a corner loggia and ornamental tiles that cover the interior walls.

Pietro Luxoro built the residence in 1903 as a private home and art collection for his family. After his death, the building passed to the Municipality of Genoa in 1945, which opened it to the public as a museum.

The house contains Italian artworks from painters like Mosé Bianchi, Giovanni Boldini, and Telemaco Signorini spread throughout its rooms. These pieces reflect the taste of the collector who originally built the residence.

The museum welcomes visitors on multiple days throughout the week and offers guided tours through its rooms. The best time to visit is during morning hours when the spaces are quieter and you can study the details more closely.

An external niche of the building holds a marble figure of the Madonna, weaving religious art tradition into the structure itself. This small shrine is easily overlooked by visitors, yet it reveals how the original family integrated their faith into their daily surroundings.
