The Palazzo Regio features grand staircases, decorated halls, and intricate frescoes spread across multiple floors in the heart of Cagliari.
The palace opened its doors in 1337 under Peter IV of Aragon and served as the residence for representatives of the Kingdom of Sardinia.
The Council Room displays the detailed artworks of fresco painter Domenico Bruschi and stucco master dell'Angeletti from the late 19th century.
Located at Piazza Palazzo 1, the palace opens daily from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM and provides audio guides in Italian for self-guided tours.
From 1799 to 1815, the palace housed the Savoy royal family during their exile from Turin due to Napoleon's occupation of Piedmont.
