Palazzo Regio is a palace in Cagliari featuring grand staircases, decorated halls, and detailed frescoes distributed across multiple floors. The rooms display craftsmanship from different periods that shapes the interior character of the building.
The palace was founded in 1337 under Peter IV of Aragon and served for centuries as a seat for representatives of the Kingdom of Sardinia. It later became a royal refuge during turbulent times in northern Italy.
The Council Room displays elaborate frescoes by painter Domenico Bruschi and stucco work by dell'Angeletti, reflecting the artistic skill of the late 19th century.

From 1799 to 1815, the palace sheltered the House of Savoy after they fled Turin. This chapter made it an important refuge during the Napoleonic Wars.
