Palazzo dei Rettori, Renaissance palace in Belluno, Italy

Palazzo dei Rettori is a Renaissance palace in Belluno featuring a distinctive facade with decorative stone elements and a three-arched portico supported by ornate columns. The interior preserves its original room layout with wooden beam ceilings characteristic of the period.

The palace was established as an administrative center from 1491 when Venetian rector Maffeo Tiepolo commissioned the first three-arched loggia. A bell tower was added later between 1536 and 1547, representing an important architectural expansion.

The interior courtyard displays typical Renaissance features with its arcades creating shaded gathering spaces. The rooms reflect the building's role as an administrative hub where local matters were decided.

The building is located on Via Duomo in central Belluno and currently serves as the Prefecture. Visits are possible only by prior arrangement through local contact information.

The bell tower was designed according to specific architectural principles by a Franciscan friar named Valerio da San Vittore. This shows how religious communities played a role in shaping the city's appearance.
