Teatro Comunale, Theatre in Belluno, Italy.
Teatro Comunale is a neoclassical theatre building in Belluno featuring four Corinthian columns and decorative stone statues on its facade. The venue seats about 645 people and hosts opera, dance, and theatrical productions throughout the year.
Built between 1833 and 1835 by architect Giuseppe Segusini, the theatre replaced a former grain storage facility that once occupied the site. This construction marked an important shift in the city's development toward cultural activities.
The theatre maintains an active calendar with performances ranging from classical ballet by Russian companies to contemporary theatrical productions by Italian actors.
The theatre is located at Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II in central Belluno and is easy to reach on foot. Visitors should check at the ticket office about seating options and any special access arrangements before arrival.
Nine stone and bronze busts from the 16th and 17th centuries are displayed around the building, depicting Venetian governors. These sculptures were rescued from the demolished city hall and relocated here for safekeeping.
