Belluno, Provincial capital in Veneto, Italy

The city extends along the confluence of Piave and Ardo rivers within the Dolomite Alps, featuring Renaissance buildings and medieval streets at 390 meters elevation.

Originally known as Bellunum during Roman times, the settlement developed as a free commune before joining the Republic of Venice in 1404 for strategic timber transport.

The Cathedral, reconstructed after the 1873 earthquake, stands near the Palazzo dei Rettori from 1491, displaying the architectural evolution through different periods.

The railway station connects the city to major northern Italian destinations, while numerous hiking trails provide access to the surrounding Dolomite mountains.

The Civic Museum inside Palazzo dei Giuristi contains regional artifacts and an art gallery presenting collections from various historical periods since 1664.
