Bolago, Libano e Barp

Bolago, Libano, and Barp are three settlements arranged along the lower slopes of Pala Alta in the Valbelluna region. These villages sit at roughly 1,500 meters (4,900 feet) elevation and together form a small cluster with homes, schools, and the parish church located in Bolago.

The settlements developed in early times as small farming communities in this mountain region. During World War II they experienced harsh occupation, while resistance fighters found refuge in the surrounding mountains.

The Parish Church of Saints Faustino and Giovita, located in Bolago settlement, represents a central religious structure consecrated in 1901.

The settlements are reached by local roads, though pathways can be challenging during winter months. Check weather conditions before visiting and bring appropriate gear depending on the season.

The region was once known for producing millstones between Libano and Tisoi that were sold across Europe. This stone industry shaped the economic life of the communities and left traces still visible today.
