Riserva naturale guidata Bosco di Don Venanzio

The reserve spans 78 hectares of land with diverse ecosystems, including woodland areas, aquatic vegetation along the Sinello River, and a gravelly riverbed.

The reserve, established in 1999, received its name from priest Venanzio Di Virgilio, who transferred the land ownership to Pollutri municipality in 1986.

The visitor center, housed in a 20th-century farmhouse, provides educational programs about local flora, fauna, and environmental conservation efforts.

A network of marked trails connects the Don Venanzio Nature Reserve to the Punta Aderci Reserve in Vasto, enabling visitors to explore both protected areas.

The reserve contains one of the rare examples of lowland forest along the Adriatic coast, located 5 kilometers from the sea at 30 meters above sea level.
