Rifugio Azzoni sits at 1860 meters (6100 feet) on the Resegone mountain and offers sleeping accommodations in shared dormitories with a total of 18 beds. The location provides views over the Western Alps and three lakes: Como, Annone, and Pusiano.
This refuge was founded in 1895 and became a central hub for mountaineers exploring the Resegone area. It helped connect several climbing routes throughout the region.
The kitchen serves traditional Lombard dishes from midday to mid-afternoon, keeping local food traditions alive in the mountain setting. Visitors can taste regional specialties that climbers have valued for generations.
Visitors should bring a sleeping bag or purchase sheets, since the facility operates year-round on weekends and holidays only. It is wise to check in advance whether your intended visit day aligns with operating times.
Next to the main building stands the Città di Lecco bivouac, a two-bed emergency shelter that opens only when the main facility is closed. This small roofed structure offers climbers a fallback option during times when regular accommodations are unavailable.
