The Teatro Comunale Città di Vicenza is a modern theatre on Viale Mazzini, designed by Gino Valle and inaugurated in 2007. It has two halls: the Sala Maggiore with 910 red seats and the Ridotto with 380. The interior is black with suspended acoustic panels, and the exterior alternates bands of red brick and white stone, echoing the nearby medieval walls.

The building opened in 2007 and provided the city with a modern center for performing arts. This new facility was created after an extended construction period to meet the city's cultural needs.

The theatre's seasons cover dance, prose, symphonic and chamber music. It opened on 10 December 2007 with a gala hosted by Milly Carlucci and performed by Lina Sastri, Giorgio Albertazzi and Alessandro Gassman, with the Orchestra del Teatro Olimpico. The Fondazione Teatro Comunale Città di Vicenza, set up in 2007, has run the venue since, with Flavio Albanese as its second president from 2010.

The theatre stands on Viale Mazzini, outside the historic centre, in the area chosen in 1985 after the Campo Marzo site was rejected. The main hall seats 910 and the Ridotto 380, so check which hall hosts the performance before booking. The building was finished on 9 November 2007, a month and a half ahead of schedule.

The exterior alternates bands of red brick and white stone inserts, echoing both the nearby medieval walls and Vicenza's building colours. The interior is black, with suspended acoustic panels that carry sound from the stage to the seats; LED strips hidden in the joints between panels light walls and ceiling indirectly.
